Sell TF2 Items For Real Money 2026: 8 Sites Checked On What They Actually Buy

CS.Deals Takes The Smallest Cut, Skins.Cash Has The Clearest TF2 Instant Sell

Eight sites with a Dust3 review say they deal in Team Fortress 2 items. Only four of them clearly buy or list TF2 items for real money today. The other four either limit TF2 to a few items, contradict themselves on their own pages, or have switched cash sales off. Everything below was checked on each site's own pages on 30 September 2026. Where a site says two different things, we show both.

  • CS.Deals lists TF2 items user to user for a 2% seller fee, with no withdrawal fee on its fee page
  • Waxpeer runs a live TF2 market with a 6% selling fee, according to its FAQ
  • Skins.Cash has a dedicated TF2 instant sell page, and its own blog puts typical TF2 returns at 25 to 50 percent of Steam value
  • Swap.gg accepts only three TF2 items, and one of them is the Mann Co. Supply Crate Key
  • Tradeit.gg's TF2 cash sell page shows a maintenance banner, so TF2 is trade only there for now

Money From The Steam Market Never Leaves Steam

The Steam Community Market is the easiest place to sell a TF2 item, and the one that pays you least in real terms. Valve adds a 5% Steam fee and a 10% Team Fortress 2 fee on top of what the seller receives, so roughly 13% of the listed price never reaches you. The bigger catch is where the rest goes. Steam's Subscriber Agreement says Steam Wallet funds have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash. Whatever you earn on the Market can buy games and items, and nothing else.

  • A key listed at $2.24 on the Steam Market leaves the seller about $1.95 in Steam Wallet funds
  • The same key was listed around $1.70 on CS.Deals and $1.73 on Waxpeer, and what a seller keeps there after the fee can be withdrawn
  • Selling on the Steam Market needs a trusted account, meaning a Steam purchase at least 30 days ago
  • Free to play TF2 accounts cannot trade items at all, so they cannot sell on any site below

TF2 Trades Cannot Be Reversed, Which Changes How Long You Wait

Since July 2025, Steam lets a CS2 trade be reversed for seven days, and that is why most skin sites now hold CS2 payouts for a week. Valve launched this Trade Protection for CS2 items only. We found no sign that it has been extended to TF2, and Waxpeer's own announcement called the features CS2 exclusive. So a TF2 sale does not carry the risk that makes sites hold CS2 money. Some sites reflect that: Swap.gg's help centre says TF2 balance is not affected by trade reversals. Others write one hold for every game into their terms, so check the terms of the site you pick.

  • Avan Market's terms credit funds no earlier than 8 days after a sale for game items in general, while its FAQ says games other than CS2 are not delayed
  • Skins.Cash's terms tie payouts to the 7 day Steam Trade Protection period and do not say how TF2 is handled
  • Items bought on the Steam Market cannot be traded for 7 days
  • Without the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator active for 7 days, Steam can hold a trade for up to 15 days

Featured platforms

  1. CS.Deals — A user to user market for TF2: you set the price and wait for a buyer. The fee page lists a 2% seller fee, no buyer fee and no withdrawal fee. Keys were listed around $1.70 when we checked, which leaves about $1.67 after the fee. Payouts go to a bank account or crypto. Several of its older help pages now return errors, so trust the live fee page.
  2. Waxpeer — Runs a live TF2 market where you list an item and a buyer pays your price. Its FAQ puts the selling fee at 6%, although its terms allow anything from 0 to 20 percent. Keys were listed from $1.73 against a Steam reference of $2.26. The terms name cards, PayPal, e-wallets and bank transfers for payouts, while two review sites say payouts go out in USDT only, so check the withdraw screen first.
  3. Skins.Cash — Has a dedicated TF2 instant sell page: pick your items, accept the trade and the site pays you. Its own blog puts typical TF2 returns at 25 to 50 percent of Steam value, which is the price of not waiting for a buyer. The page shows Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Skrill, BLIK and SEPA for payouts, and says money arrives within 24 hours on working days.
  4. SkinCashier — Has a TF2 instant sell page and names Team Fortress 2 in its terms. Quotes follow the Steam Market price, and the site turns down items it considers too low in value, unstable in price or overstocked. Payouts go to PayPal, Payeer, Bitcoin, Ethereum or Litecoin. Parts of the TF2 page still talk about 2021, so trust the live quote over the copy.
  5. Avan Market — Its terms say you can buy and sell TF2 items, and it has a TF2 sell page, but its help centre describes TF2 as keys only. You sell to the site at a price shown before you confirm. The terms hold funds for 8 days after a sale for game items in general, while the FAQ says only CS2 is delayed. Withdrawals start at about $3.
  6. SellYourSkins — The homepage and the sell page both say it values TF2 items, but its help centre article on what you can sell mentions CS2 skins only. Payouts cover PayPal, cards, SEPA, SWIFT, Venmo, Revolut and crypto, with a $3 minimum per transaction. Load your TF2 inventory there and see what gets a price before you plan around it.
  7. Swap.gg — Its help centre limits TF2 to three items: the Mann Co. Supply Crate Key, the Tour of Duty Ticket and the Backpack Expander. Other TF2 items are not accepted. Instant sell pays out in seven cryptocurrencies, or by SEPA for users in the EU, and the help centre says TF2 balance is not affected by Steam's trade reversals.
  8. Tradeit.gg — The TF2 cash sell page currently shows a maintenance banner, and Tradeit's TF2 FAQ says TF2 items cannot be sold for cash, only for crypto or other items. You can still swap TF2 items with its bots, including a key trading bot. Swapping TF2 items for CS2 skins stopped after Steam's trade protection arrived, according to its help centre.

What to know

Keys are the easiest TF2 item to turn into money. They are listed by the thousand on CS.Deals and Waxpeer, and they are the one TF2 item that Avan's help centre and Swap.gg both name. If you are cashing out hats, weapons or unusuals through a site that does not want them, trading them for keys first and selling the keys is often the shorter route. Refined metal is the other TF2 currency, and none of the eight sites above says it buys metal for cash. One key was worth roughly 62 to 67 refined metal at the end of September 2026, depending on where you look. A refined is worth three reclaimed, and a reclaimed is worth three scrap. Turn metal into keys before you try to sell it. The TF2 community also runs its own sites, and they work differently from the ones above. Backpack.tf is a price guide and classifieds board, and it does not buy anything itself. Scrap.tf and STN trade items for keys and metal, with no cash payouts. Marketplace.tf pays sellers in money but was not accepting new bulk sellers when we checked, and Mannco.store advertises a 5% seller fee. None of them has a Dust3 review yet, so they are not ranked here. Before your first sale, check what can move at all. Achievement items and some community and Valve quality items can never be traded. Anything you bought on the Steam Market stays locked for 7 days, and a key or name tag used on an item passes its remaining lock on to that item. Turn on the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator and give it 7 days, or trades can sit on hold for up to 15 days. How we ordered this list. Sites with a live TF2 market and a published fee come first, ordered by that fee. Instant sell sites with a dedicated TF2 page follow. Then come the sites whose own pages disagree about TF2, and last the sites that take only a few TF2 items or none for cash. Every platform here has a full Dust3 review. Codes shown are Dust3's own. We may earn a commission, and it does not change the order.
