Sell Rust Skins For Real Money 2026: 13 Sites Checked On Fees And Payout Holds

Steam Does Not Reverse Rust Trades, But Some Sites Still Hold Your Money

Since July 2025, Steam lets a CS2 trade be reversed for seven days, and that is why most skin sites hold CS2 payouts for a week. Rust items are not part of that system. SkinSwap's help centre says Rust trades are not protected by Steam's rollback, and Skinsauna says the same on its own pages. So how long a Rust sale takes depends on the site, not on Steam. We checked thirteen sites with a Dust3 review that buy Rust items or let you list them for other players, each on its own pages on 12 October 2026. Twelve pay cash for Rust right now, and Tradeit.gg's Rust cash sale is under maintenance. Three say outright that Rust money is yours at once, two hold it for a week or more anyway, and the rest do not say.

  • Skinsauna says Rust items are paid in full as soon as you accept the trade
  • RapidSkins says Rust skins have no Steam reversal hold
  • Swap.gg counts Rust balance as unaffected by reversals
  • SellYourSkins applies its 7 day hold to every sale, Rust included
  • SkinPlace freezes Rust sale funds until the end of an 8 day period

Money From The Steam Market Never Leaves Steam

The Steam Community Market is the easiest place to sell a Rust skin, and the one that pays you least in real terms. Valve adds its own 5% fee on top of the seller's price, plus a fee for the game itself. Third party guides put the total for Rust at about 15%, and Steam's own agreement says every fee is shown to you before the sale goes through. The bigger catch is where the money ends up. The Steam Subscriber Agreement, last updated on 10 September 2026, says Steam Wallet funds have no cash value and are not exchangeable for cash. Whatever you earn on the Market can buy games and items, and nothing else.

  • Steam Wallet funds are non-refundable and non-transferable, according to the same agreement
  • Every site below that buys Rust for cash pays out to a bank account, card, e-wallet or crypto
  • Money you top up yourself is a different story on several of them: RapidSkins, Swap.gg and Tradeit.gg all say deposited funds cannot be cashed out

Some Rust Skins Can Never Be Sold

Before you load your inventory into a sell page, check what can move at all. Rust has whole categories of skins that are tied to your account for good, and no site on this list can buy them. The tradable ones behave differently from CS2 skins too. Facepunch rotates a small set of new skins through the Rust Item Store about once a week. When the week ends they leave the store, and from then on the only way to get one is from another player. That short window is what drives Rust prices.

  • Items from Rust's permanent in-game store cannot be traded on Steam or resold on the Steam Market, according to Facepunch's announcement from November 2021
  • Skins earned through Twitch drops are account bound and cannot be traded or sold, according to Facepunch's wiki
  • Facepunch's charity skins from November 2022 were also account bound
  • Facepunch's Workshop FAQ says skins are removed from sale when they have been around for a long time or have made too much money

Featured platforms

  1. CS.Deals — Has a Rust market where you list an item and set the price, plus Instant Sell if you would rather not wait. The fee page lists a 2% seller fee on the market, 0% on Instant Sell with prices shown as they are, and no withdrawal fee. Payouts go to a bank account or crypto. Its FAQ talks about waiting out the 7 day reversal period without saying whether that covers Rust.
  2. Waxpeer — Runs a Rust market where you set your own price and a buyer pays it. The FAQ puts the selling fee at 6%, one rate for every game, and selling needs Waxpeer's companion app running. Instant sale is also offered, at prices its FAQ describes as below market. Withdrawal methods and fees are only shown inside your account, so check them before you list.
  3. Skinsauna — Rust items appear on the same sell page as your CS2 skins and are priced the same way. Its homepage FAQ says Rust items are paid in full as soon as you accept the trade, because Steam does not protect Rust trades. Payout options depend on your country, from SEPA, PayPal and Revolut to crypto, and any payout fee is shown before you confirm the sale.
  4. Rapid Skins — Has a dedicated Rust sell page with prices that follow current Steam Market rates. Its FAQ says Rust skins have no Steam reversal hold, so the 7 day wait applies to CS2 only. Payouts go to PayPal, Visa Debit, ACH, Venmo or crypto, and the fee for each method shows when you hover over it. Money you deposit yourself cannot be withdrawn.
  5. Swap.gg — Offers Rust instant sell next to its trade bots, with prices based on market data and no published fee. Its help centre counts Rust balance as unaffected by Steam's reversals, so it is available straight away, except for Rust items received in exchange for CS2 items. Payouts go out in seven cryptocurrencies, or by SEPA or bank transfer for users in the EU.
  6. SkinSwap — Has a dedicated Rust sell page and keeps Rust balance separate from CS2 balance. Its help centre says Rust trades are not protected by Steam's rollback system, while its general sell guide still mentions a 7 day period without naming a game. Trading between CS2 and Rust is switched off for now, and no fee percentage is published. Payouts cover PayPal, Venmo, SEPA, PIX, bank transfer and five cryptocurrencies.
  7. SkinCashier — Has a Rust sell page and names Rust in its terms. Quotes follow the Steam Market price. The terms say money is sent straight after the trade, with up to 5 days for bank checks, while the FAQ mentions a 7 day trade lock without naming a game. Payouts go to PayPal, Payeer, AdvCash, Bitcoin or Ethereum. Parts of the Rust page still talk about 2021, so trust the live quote over the copy.
  8. Lis-Skins — Buys Rust skins directly from you at a price it quotes, with no waiting for a buyer. No commission rate is published beyond a promise of no hidden fees. Payouts go to bank cards, SEPA, SBP in Russia and six cryptocurrencies. Its July 2025 blog post says Steam's reversal system covered CS2 items only at launch, and its pages do not say whether Rust sales are held today.
  9. Skins.Cash — Has a dedicated Rust instant sell page and advertises 100% payout without fees, with prices built from other markets including Steam. Its FAQ and its Rust page list different payout methods: the FAQ names Payoneer, Visa, Mastercard and Bitcoin, the Rust page adds PayPal, Skrill, BLIK and SEPA. Its FAQ says a 7 day hold applies to trades that are not instant, without naming a game.
  10. Avan Market — Has a Rust sell page that promises money within 15 minutes, with a commission that depends on the payout method. Its terms, though, hold sale funds for at least 8 calendar days and cite Steam's trade protection without limiting that to CS2. An instant payout needs $20 in total sales and ID verification, and is capped at $1,000. Payouts go to cards, e-wallets and crypto.
  11. SkinPlace — Has a dedicated Rust sell page that takes weapons, clothing, tools and decorative items, with a bulk sell option. The headline promises 0.00% fees, while the FAQ on the same page says fees depend on the payout method. Rust sale funds are frozen until the end of an 8 day period. Payouts include cards, SEPA, PayPal and Pix, from $5 depending on the method.
  12. SellYourSkins — Buys Rust items through its general instant sell page, at quotes it describes as lower than the Steam listing. Its trade protection FAQ says the same 7 day hold applies to every sale, Rust included, even though Steam does not reverse Rust trades. Payouts cover cards, PayPal, bank transfer outside the US, Venmo in the US, Revolut and Skrill.
  13. Tradeit.gg — Has a Rust sell page, but it currently shows a maintenance banner that sends you to trading instead, so Rust is swap only there for now. On fees its own pages disagree: the help centre says 5 to 20 percent for Instant Sell, the sell page and terms say 0 to 30 percent, and bank or crypto payouts add 2%. Credit in a Tradeit wallet cannot be cashed out.

What to know

Instant sell and a market listing are two different deals. On an instant sell page the site buys your skin at a price it quotes, and that price sits below the Steam figure: SellYourSkins says so openly, and Waxpeer describes its own instant sale prices as below market. On a market listing you set the price and wait for another player to pay it, which usually gets you closer to the real value at the cost of time. Some Rust trade sites do not pay cash at all. iTrade.gg runs a Rust trade bot for item for item swaps, and its terms say its credits cannot be exchanged for regular currency. CS.TRADE also swaps Rust items, and its help centre says cashing out is not available. Use them to swap into something a site above will buy. Other Rust markets exist that do not have a Dust3 review yet, so they are not ranked here. Skinport and DMarket both run Rust sections. Rust.scmm.app is a fan made price tracker, not a market, and it is a good place to check what an item actually sells for before you accept a quote. Before your first sale, check three things. The item has to be tradable, so permanent store items and Twitch drops are out. The account has to be able to trade: turn on the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator and give it 7 days, or trades can sit on hold for up to 15 days. And sign in only on a site address you typed yourself, because fake Steam login pages that copy real trading sites are the oldest way skins get stolen. How we ordered this list. Sites where you set your own price come first, ordered by their published fee. Next come instant sell sites whose own pages say Rust money is not held, then sites whose pages are silent or disagree with each other on that, then sites that say they hold Rust money for a week or more anyway. Last is the site where Rust cash sales are under maintenance. Every platform here has a full Dust3 review. We may earn a commission, and it does not change the order.
